Located on rue Lincoln at the corner of the avenue des Champs-Elysées, Rim Enchères is an online auction house founded by Rim Mezghani, expert in Islamic and Indian Art and Raphaële Laxan, auctioneer.

The team

Rim Mezghani has been an expert in Islamic and Indian Art for over 15 years and is a member of the French Union of Professional Experts in Works of Art and Collectibles (SFEP).

After making her professional debut in a consultancy firm in banking organization, she attended courses in the history of the Art of Islam at the Ecole du Louvre and studied Persian at the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations.
Rim began her career at Soustiel-David, specialist of Oriental Art. In 2004, she joins the international auction house Christie’s, where she sets up the Department of Islamic Arts in Paris. In 2009, she creates Rim's Art, her namesake venture, specializing in the Islamic and Indian Art market, dedicated to providing expertise and advice, as well as organizing private sales, in the sector of institutional artworks.

Raphaële Laxan has been an auctioneer since 2009. She is currently completing her graduate internship in the department of inventories of the prestigious auction house Christie's. As an authorized auctioneer and specialist in Pre-Columbian Art, from Africa and Oceania, she worked for 13 years for Binoche and Giquello in Paris.


Rim and Raphaële worked together at Christie’s auction house in Paris. They namely collaborated during the historic sale of the Old Collection Charles Gillot in March 2008 where the section of Islamic Art totaled more than 11 million euros, a record sale in this field in France.
 

The creation of RIM ENCHÈRES

In 2021, Rim joined forces with Raphaële and founded the subsidiary Rim Enchères, the aim of which is to provide a complementary solution to her clients.

Rim Enchères offers thematic sales bringing together Islamic Art and works from other fields, revolving around a specific theme.

Rim Enchères provides an alternative sales strategy to that of Rim’s Art. Rim Mezghani presents you here with a “tailor-made” sales project, in line with your artworks and their specifications (value, type, etc.).

Owing to the complementarity of both ventures, as well as to her expertise and her knowledge of the market, Rim can bring you a high-level service and a perceptive insight, both in terms of expert appraisal and strategic approach, thus optimizing the outcome of the sale of your artworks.
