VERY BEAUTIFUL WEDDING DRESS (TUNIC), TUNISIA, TUNIS OR HAMMAMET, 19th CENTURY. Sleeveless straight-cut, in orange cotton, entirely embroidered with openwork, silver and gold thread, decorated with alternating bands of flowering stems or stylized motifs, some areas cut (easy to repair). Height: 116 cm. Width : 76 cm. An identical Tunisian wedding tunic is in the Metropolitan Museum, New York (C.156.11.1a-c). For a very similar tunic, see the exhibition catalog: J. Lemaistre and M.F.
