LARGE BRONZE BLESSING BOWL, ENGRAVED WITH INSCRIPTIONS. TRAN - Lot 51
LARGE BRONZE BLESSING BOWL, ENGRAVED WITH INSCRIPTIONS. TRANSOXIANE (SAMARCANDE) OR EASTERN IRAN, 12th CENTURY. Globular in shape, inscribed on the upper part of the outer wall in ornamental kufic, followed on the lower part by inscriptions of blessings to its owner, in cursive with high ascenders. Green patina. Repairs, oxidation, chips, accidents and dents. The inscription: series of blessings "al-Ni'ma wa al-sa'âda, wa al-Dawâm, wa al-Baqâ'...". Diameter: 22 cm. Height: 10.5 cm.
