ENGLISH MEASURING STANDARD (3/4 YARD), STAMPED WITH THE CAPITAL MARK OF THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA, DATED 1354 H./ 1934. Copper alloy, engraved with striations of 7 measures, flattened ends, one containing the mark of the capital municipality of the Kingdom. Length: 68.5 cm. This measurement standard is a rare object from a time when the British protectorate dominated the Middle East region. The capital municipality mark is exceptionally rare, as few objects from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from this period survive, and few appear at public sale.
