SMALL MINIATURE CORAN. SOUTH-EAST ASIA, PROBABLY INDONESIA, APOCRYPTIC DATE AH 1341 / AD 1922 PROBABLY MODERN. PROBABLY MODERN. Complete Qur'an, in miniature format, copied on deep beige paper. It is bound between two worn garnet leather boards, with a recently made brown cloth spine. The work opens and closes on summarily illuminated double pages, decorated with floral motifs in shades of green and coral, as well as a gilded triangle bearing a central inscription. The Koranic text, copied in black ink, comprises nine lines per page, framed by a red fillet. The titles of the suras are highlighted in red ink. At the end of the manuscript is a prayer, with the date AH 134(1) / AD 192(2). AD. Several elements, notably the layout, calligraphy and ornamentation, link this manuscript to Southeast Asian production. 2.5 x 2.5 x 3 cm.
