IMPORTANT AND RARE GOLD CITY PENDANT (TAZRA)
MOROCCO, PROBABLY TETOUAN, 19th CENTURY
Almond-shaped, in 375° gold, openwork and set with cabochons of emeralds, rubies, garnets and stones, alternating with fine pearls on the rim, the reverse with engraved and chased plant decoration. Hallmarks (clover).

Ex-Collection of Madame Tchen GI-VANE.
The Chinese artist Tchen Gi-Vane, who fled Mao's regime to settle in Rambouillet in a traditional pagoda, died in 2021 at the age of 97; Tchen Gi-Vane, Chinese artist, pianist, painter and poet, settled in Rambouillet with her husband Philippe Bertrand, of Auvergne origin and a former naval officer during the Indochina war.
