Turkey, Ottoman art, 19th century Of spherical form, resting on a domed pedestal, the edge slightly flared. Engraved and incised decoration of vines and grapes, openwork foliage on the shoulder. Three volutes originally serving as a base for the suspension rings. Missing rings and chains of suspension. Some traces of burns, small dents and slight cracks. H. 13 cm ; D. : 24.7 cm Private collection, Paris. Acquired in Paris in the early 1990s. A "Sitil" is a basin in which a coffee pot was placed on charcoal to heat the coffee that was carried to serve the notables.
