Large vasque (Badiye) campaniforme en cuivre étamé et gravé Iran, Qajar art, early 19th century Of round form, the high wall, resting on an annular pedestal, the decoration engraved with inscriptions in large nasta'liq, signs of the zodiac and hunting scenes. Slight restoration inside, wear. Diameter : 33 cm ; H. : 23 cm Private collection, Brittany, France. This badiye is based on the model of 17th century Safavid cups, such as the one in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (n°404 1884). However, the decoration of this one clearly refers to Qajar Iran.
