VERSEUSE COUVERTE (BOZALIK) EN BRONZE TURKEY, OTTOMAN ART, 19th CENTURY Cast bronze with bulbous body and domed lid topped by a floral handle. The body and lid with twisted decoration. S-shaped handle with a pusher decorated with two floral stems. A LARGE OTTOMAN BRONZE "BOZA" EWER (BOZALIK), TURKEY, 19TH CENTURY H: 41 cm - Ø: 22 cm This type of large covered "bozalik" bottle was used to store and serve the fermented grain drink known as "boza". Some are made of silver or tombaq (gilded copper), but also of porcelain or glass. The twisted decoration is frequent in the 19th century under the Ottoman Empire. Expert : L.S.
