IZNIK CERAMIC LINING PANEL, TURKEY, OTTOMAN ART, CIRCA 1555-1565. Rectangular in shape, in siliceous ceramic with painted polychrome engobe decoration on a white ground, in red, turquoise, blue and cobalt blue. Antique wooden frame, the back covered with antique paper. Dimensions with frame: 35.5 x 21.5 cm; 29 x 14 cm. Private collection, Paris XVIe. These tiles are particularly rare; another very similar tile is preserved in the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands (BK-NM-11789). A fragment was sold at auction in Paris: Aguttes, Arts d'Asie et Céramiques Européennes, May 26, 2010, lot 291.
