BEAUTIFUL AND RARE GOLD, SILVER AND ENAMEL HOOKAH STOVE
IRAN, TEHRAN, QAJAR ART, MID-19th CENTURY
Composed of three parts, the ghalian head in painted and champlevé enameled gold resting on an engraved wooden base, all on a copper core, tassels of pearls and braided chains. Decorated with alternating medallions of dancers serving wine and gol-o-bolbol motifs. The hearth is missing. A metal lid with openwork decoration has been added, probably associated with the stove from the outset.
