OTTOMAN SABER (SHAMSHIR) TURKEY, 19th CENTURY Crook handle with blond horn plates and two rivets and eyelet buttons. Gilded iron mounting. Guard with two auricles and two long quillons ending in a ball. Curved, flat-backed damascus blade. Chagrin-covered wooden scabbard with two fittings and two bracelets, and gold-decorated silver-plated metal reinforcing splint. With its scarlet thread and silver passementerie strap. Old collector's label, mark on scabbard trim, illegible tughra. Accidents, missing parts, dents and wear. Length: 103.5 cm.
