SUPPORT DE LAMPE À HUILE EN BRONZE AFGHANISTAN, GHAZNEVID ART, END OF 12th CENTURY Cast, engraved, openwork and copper-inlaid decoration, with a poly-lobed tripod base hollowed out by six decorated alveoli. The disc-shaped dish is engraved with kufic inscriptions. Height 54 cm; Diam. 22.7 cm. Private collection, Paris Rive Gauche. Acquired during a trip to Afghanistan organized for the Friends of the Louvre in March 1975.
