Miniature extraite d'un Akbarnama (Livre d'Akbar) d'Abu'l Fa - Lot 84
Miniature extraite d'un Akbarnama (Livre d'Akbar) d'Abu'l Fazl (1551-1602) : bataille entre Azim Khan et les fils de Sher Khan Fuladi India, Mughal art, circa 1595-1600 Gouache and gold on paper, mounted on a cardboard page. Blue inner margin, the number 27 inscribed in red ink in the lower right corner. Several repaints, tear in the upper left corner, stains and wetness. Miniature : 23.5 x 12.7 cm ; Folio : 39 x 24.5 cm Private collection, Paris. It is likely that this miniature is truncated from a page that was originally larger. Its dense composition, iconography and various characteristics are close to an Akbarnama preserved in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (IS.2:98-1896 and IS.2:109-1896).
