Watch: England, London, late 18th century for the Ottoman market. Silver case: Ottoman Empire, 19th century Double silver case. White enamel dial inscribed "George Prior, London" and Turkish numerals. Gilt mechanism inscribed "Geo. Prior London 8178". Dial without glass. Silver case finely chased with a panoply of Arts and a Trophy, and scalloped edge. Apocryphal English silver hallmarks "with lion" without date letter or city hallmark, and Armenian hallmark. Inscription engraved inside the case: "M30 01 99D Paris". Expert L.S. H. : 7 cm ; D. : 5,8 cm George Prior was a watchmaker, specialized in watches and clocks for the Ottoman market, active between 1765 and 1812.
