India, Deccan, Mughal art, late 19th century Piriform, resting on an annular base, with damascene decoration in silver, the body decorated with lobed registers, furnished with dense floral bouquets. Missing decoration, small chips. H. 18 cm For bidri objects with identical decoration, see for example a narguileh base in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (acc. 136-1852), or a basin in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (acc. 19.135.13).
