by Muhammad Murad, 18th century Black ink, gouache and gold on cream paper, mounted on an album page, pasted on a cardboard page. 4 lines of poetry, inscribed in Arabic from a poem by Ibn Sina, obliquely, in registers with a background embellished with birds in flight, in reserve on a background illuminated with fine floral garlands, housing the signature of the calligrapher at the bottom left: "Faqir, Muhammad Murad". The margins are decorated with branches of vines, punctuated with grapes and perched birds. A calligraphy by Muhammad Murad, verso of an album page was sold at Christie's, Arts of India, London, 12 June 2018, lot 24. The Royal Collection also houses a calligraphy by this artist (inv. no. RCIN 1005066).
