TENTURE « SUZANI » AU CŒUR ROUGE BRIQUE CENTRAL ASIA, UZBEKISTAN, URGUT, 20th CENTURY Rectangular cotton hanging embroidered with cotton threads, decorated with large red and brick-red discs on a white background, around which meander large black scrolls of poly-lobed palmettes. The border of red and brick rosettes alternates with stylized black plant motifs. A "SUZANI" HANGING WITH BIRCK-RED HEARTS, CENTRAL ASIA, UZBEKISTAN, URGUT, 20TH CENTURY. H: 370 x W: 326 cm Urgut, located in the Samarkand region, is still known today for its large suzani hangings.
