PARTIE DE CORAN EGYPT, MAMLUK ART, 14th CENTURY Arabic manuscript on thick bistre paper. 13 folios, 11 lines of text per page in black ink in muhaqqaq script. The titles of the suras in white within golden clouds inscribed in a rectangular cartouche. Rosettes at the end of verses and marginal medallions. 12 paginated folios comprising the text of Sura XII (Joseph), midway through verse 110 to the title of Sura XVI The Bees (verses 28 and 29 of Sura XIII are partially written). Folio 6bis contains the text of another Sura (XXXIII the Factions, 10-22), interspersed with verse 17 of Sura XIV (Abraham). Modern binding in blue cardboard embossed and gilt with floral mandorla and spandrels. A QUR'AN SECTION, EGYPT, MAMLUK, 14TH CENTURY. H: 37.5 x W: 28.5 cm Expert : L.S.
